Abstract

Setiap tahun,The Economist, media ternama Amerika Serikat merilis indeks demokrasi negara-negara di dunia. Indeks itu merupakan proyek salah satu sayap lembagathink-tankmedia tersebut;The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), yang memaparkan tentang penilaian keberlangsungan demokrasi pada setiap negara dunia, diukur dengan menggunakan lima variabel penilaian, meliputi; (1) proses elektoral dan pluralisme, (2) keberfungsian pemerintahan, (3) partisipasi politik, (4) kultur politik, dan (5) kebebasan sipil. Hasilnya, pada tahun 2017 EIU menempatkan Indonesia dengan capaian skor 72,11 dari skor sempura 10,00. Pada tahun 2018 mengalami kenaikan skor 0,28 menjadi 72,39.
